A test result has been published today.

As it turned out from now I am a proud owner of a middle-level English IT terminology exam. I don't really know what is the exact English name of this certificate but it doesn't really matter.

The exam has two parts: one with speaking and talking and one with reading and writing. Second part was fine, my result was 80% but I had some issues with part one. We had started with the listening task and in theory we should listen to someone who speaks the language natively. Instead of that we got a bitch who spoke with a Lithuanian-Polish-Croat-Russian-Ukrainian accent and all the people in the room just looked like a gawping fish with the perfect expression of what the f* is this shit. So almost all of us lost about ten point because of that. Never mind. Presentation, talking and other parts were very good.

Of course this is just the beginning. The more you know, the more you want to know. I am aware that I am not the best English knowing person in this country but I think that's not the point.

If you can understand a letter from your English friend, you can speak in clear and confident way and the most important: if others understand what are you talking or writing about – then you are good.

That's the point.

Anyway for tonight I've got a JSP blog engine to develop for my very last exam in this session.

Congratulations! Now you made me think. I have an intermediate level C type language exam certificate from Rigo street, but that seems like bullshit to me, at least at international level. So it came to my mind that I should get a shiny new certificate sooner or later but from some internationally certified organisation instead of this local shit. That special IT terminology stuff mentioned here does sound really good. Would you be so kind to tell me what kind of exam did you take? (Is that internationally accepted?)
Mefi: congrats, nicely done, and your english is good as well!

Athos: Nothing is accepted internationally – that you all can forget about. These state-cerificates are valid within our borders only.
But hey, try a TOEFL instead, it's not that hard and practically everyone accepts it ;)
Good job! Well done! ;)
Nah akkor elsőként gratulálok az anyanyelvünkön is! Szép volt!
fuck y'all
Athos: noone cares about these exams abroad. If you speak english, you're good to go, if you don't, no exam will be enough :)
Athos: the special IT stuff means that you won't listen „Katie go to the store for tomatoes” but „Katie go to the store for a new sound card”. And you have to write your composition about one of the IP topics.

sHelf: thank you. :)

FlashGordon: köszi szépen! :)

Levente: yes.
congrats. from now on you'll be blogging in english (as well)? to be honest, i think my english improved *a lot* from blogging for years…
about exams, if i were to get a real job here, i'd probably need to take a TOEIC exam, because japanese care only about that. but everyone has to have it.
Vale: not here, but maybe in an other blog. :)
